    [rtl]Baghdad - Iraq Today:

     The Independent High Electoral Commission revealed an increase in the number of people excluded from running in the local governorate council elections, while indicating that there are more than 6 thousand candidates awaiting their fate from running in the upcoming elections process.[/rtl]
    [rtl] The commission's assistant spokesman, Nibras Abu Souda, said in a press interview that “the investigative authorities are still continuing their work to verify the eligibility of the candidates,” stressing that “the number of candidates who were excluded will reach 400 candidates, as a “Result of accountability, justice, and legal penalties.”[/rtl]
    [rtl]She explained that "the number of those excluded will not settle on a number, since the investigation process has not yet ended, in addition to the opportunity for the candidates to appeal the exclusion decision, and if the appeal is taken, their return is very likely." Abu Souda pointed out that "the number of candidates for the provincial councils has reached more than 6,000 candidates, and they are awaiting the completion of the work of the investigative committees, and then the names of the candidates will be officially announced."[/rtl]
