Disclosing details of the salary increase for retirees

, yesterday, Wednesday, the General Retirement Authority revealed the details of the increase in retirees’ salaries, indicating a move towards electronic automation and digital transformation.
The head of the authority, Maher Hussein Rashid, said in a press conference: “In line with the government program to care for the elderly and the retirees segment, and to achieve the completion that the government is making for this important segment, the Council of Ministers approved significant and continuous support from Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, the Ministry of Finance and the National Retirement Authority.” The amount of the increase in the living improvement allocations for retirees’ salaries by 100 thousand dinars for each original retiree whose salary is one million dinars or less, before distributing the percentage among the heirs, and also includes the eligible heirs.”
He added, “The past months witnessed the Authority’s diligent efforts that resulted in the approval of the decision, which extends a package of large and many reforms for the segment of retirees,” noting that “we are continuing to address some of the loopholes created by the laws and the lack of instructions and diligence regarding smooth regulatory issues that facilitate and simplify retirement treatment.” Procedures and service provision for all retirees.
He stressed “moving towards electronic automation, digital transformation, and the use of information technology at work.”
Rashid stated, “Any retired person whose original salary is one million dinars or less is included in the increase of 100,000 dinars, and if he is deceased, the heirs are entitled to 100,000 dinars without it being divided among them.”
He pointed out that “the Prime Minister stressed the need to pay attention to retirees and heirs,” explaining that “a committee was formed in this regard and an integrated study was prepared to issue this decision.”
He explained, “The Authority is ready to begin implementing this decision at any time,” pointing out that “part of this amount will be borne by the public treasury through the Ministry of Finance, and the other part will be borne by the State Employees’ Retirement Fund.”
He stressed that “the total number of those covered by the increase amounts to 1,642,930 retirees,” noting that “the monthly increase amount is 164 billion and 293 million dinars.”
He continued, “The public treasury bears this amount in the amount of 110 billion and 891 thousand dinars, and the Fund bears the remaining amount in the amount of 53 billion and 401 million and 500 thousand dinars.”
