In the latest toll...the Israeli army: Hamas has 230 hostages in Gaza

{International: Al-Furat News} Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari announced that the total number of hostages held by Hamas since the latter launched its attack on the Hebrew state on October 7 has reached 230 hostages, according to what the “Times of Israel” reported.
Hagari added that the military pressure on Hamas "also aims to release the hostages held by the movement in Gaza."
In an update on the number of hostages, Hagari said that the Israeli army informed the families of 230 hostages that their loved ones are currently detained in the Gaza Strip.
He pointed out that the number is not final, "because the army is investigating new information."
The number also does not include four hostages who were released, the mother and daughter Judith and Natalie Raanan last week, and the elderly Yocheved Lifshitz and Nurit Cooper, on Monday night.
The Hamas movement launched a sudden and unprecedented attack on Israeli towns surrounding the Gaza Strip on October 7, which led to the killing of 1,400 people, most of them civilians, and the seizure of a large number of hostages who were transported into Gaza.
The Israeli army subsequently launched a massive attack on the Gaza Strip, through violent bombardment that led to the death of more than 8,000 Palestinians, most of them civilians, half of whom were children, according to what the health authorities in the Hamas-run Strip said.
