Zaini said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The land roads between Iraqi cities, whether from the north towards the capital or vice versa, or linking the west to the center and the rest of the regions, constitute arteries for economic activity in the first place, not to mention transporting travelers, and they are gaining priority in terms of securing them over time.”
He added, "Most of the roads face multiple drawbacks, the most notable of which is the large number of controls that raise many complaints, especially with the involvement of some individuals in the corruption file through the smuggling portal," stressing that "there is a 6-dimensional road map that will be followed in order to reconsider it according to mechanisms that guarantee the removal of any Suspicions of corruption and prompting the strengthening of its security role.”
He pointed out that "relying on central controls at the entrances to cities has become an important solution in order to reduce their number, especially since they constitute a drain on the human capacity of the security institution, which requires flexible mechanisms in dealing with the security issue of land roads that form economic arteries between cities."
