    Baghdad today - follow-up
Vahid Jalalzadeh, Chairman of the National Security Committee in the Iranian Parliament, revealed today, Friday (November 3, 2023), that in the first days of Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood,” Washington sent a message to Tehran to maintain the level of conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Jalalzadeh said in an interview with "Russia Today", "From the first days of the operation, the Americans conveyed a message to Iran through a Gulf state, that we agree that the level of conflict between Israel and Hamas factions should remain and that other factions and groups should not interfere," stressing that "we We did not respond to this message."
He pointed out that "the Americans have violated what they ask us to abide by... They send weapons daily to Tel Aviv and they also sent aircraft carriers, and this war is being managed by Washington," pointing out that "we in Tehran and Moscow know how the Americans violate international laws and obligations." Therefore, we do not count on any agreement with the Americans.”
Jalalzadeh stressed that "the communications and relationship between Iran and the resistance factions are not between a president and a subordinate, but rather as friends, and they make the decision themselves to conduct any operation," considering that "the Israeli regime feels the danger and is trying to transfer this danger to other regions in the East."
He continued: "We have two tasks before us. The first is to stop the killing of the civilian population in Palestine, and the second is to seek to prevent the confrontation from spreading beyond the borders of the region. The Israeli regime is in danger and cannot provide security for its cities, so it wants the crisis to spread throughout the entire Middle East."
He considered, "The Israeli regime is not prepared to continue this war for a long time. We see that the Israeli army is a temporary army, but the United States intervenes and supports the Israeli regime by pumping weapons against a small group within a small area."
Jalalzadeh called for "the necessity of opening the crossings, and this can only be done with the help of the international community. We must first reach a ceasefire, and this will only happen when America stops interfering. The Americans help the Israeli regime and pump weapons day and night."
On the other hand, Jalalzadeh explained that he “decided to visit Moscow in view of the events in the Middle East,” noting that “before Moscow, he visited Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Qatar, and spoke with his colleagues in parliaments about the events in Gaza, and decided to discuss the issue of how to stop the war with colleagues in the State Duma.” He thanked the Russian government for “taking a correct position regarding the events in Palestine, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for voting in favor of a ceasefire.”
He pointed out that "the Russians and Iranians have proven that by standing side by side they can solve regional issues, and the closest example is the Syrian file. They were able to weaken the position of the United States and prevent it from passing its policy there, and we can show this will again to resume talks and ceasefire in Gaza." .
