    An official at the US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) revealed, on Monday, that the US-Iraqi talks scheduled to be held at the ministry’s headquarters will deal with bilateral security cooperation between the US and Iraq, the future of the US military presence in Iraq, and its form outside the framework of pursuing “ISIS.”

    "The discussions will continue over two days," the official said.  
      
    And the official Iraqi agency quoted the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Yahya Rasool, on Monday, that a high-level delegation headed by the Minister of Defense, Thabet Muhammad al-Abbasi, began his visit to the United States.  
      
    Rasool said that the delegation, which received an official invitation from the US Department of Defense, includes the head of the Counter-Terrorism Service, Abd al-Wahhab al-Saadi, the Chief of Staff of the Army, Abd al-Amir Rashid Yarallah, the deputy commander of joint operations, Qais al-Muhammadawi, and a number of advisors and officers.  
      
    He pointed out that the delegation will hold a series of meetings to discuss a group of issues, on top of which is "the future relationship of the presence of the international coalition, bilateral security cooperation between Iraq and the United States, and the exchange of experiences and information, especially in the intelligence aspect in pursuing the remaining ISIS elements."
