    The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, confirmed on Sunday, during his meeting with the Federal Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, the region’s readiness to resume oil exports, and said that the cessation of exports caused the loss of billions of dollars to the public treasury.

    A statement by the Kurdistan government translated by 964 Network:

    The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, and his accompanying delegation, consisting of deputies and general directors of the ministry and the general director of SOMO.
    During the meeting, views were exchanged on procedures and steps for exporting oil from the Kurdistan region.
    The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq reaffirmed the readiness of the Kurdistan Region to resume oil exports, within the framework of a joint understanding to meet the financial and technical requirements for the export process and within the framework of constitutional principles and contracts, respect for the constitutional rights of all required parties, and find appropriate solutions to ensure the reasonable cost of producing and transporting the region’s oil, which is allocated in Federal budget.
    The Prime Minister said that the cessation of oil exports caused billions of dollars in losses to the public treasury and must be resumed as soon as possible. In this regard, the Minister of Natural Resources directed full coordination with the Federal Oil Ministry team, which is scheduled to remain in Erbil for several days.
    The Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Minister of Oil expressed the federal government's desire to resume oil exports on behalf of the Prime Minister and the federal government by providing common ground within the framework of the Constitution and removing obstacles to the process.
