    [size=45]US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin accused the Hezbollah Brigades in Iraq and Harakat al-Nujaba of being behind most of the attacks against US forces in Iraq and Syria, and said that his country reserves the right to defend itself against the threats of Iranian-backed groups in Iraq.[/size]
    [size=45]During a call with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani on Friday night, Austin condemned the attack on the American embassy in Baghdad and the American forces in Iraq and Syria in recent weeks.[/size]
    [size=45]He also stressed that the United States reserves the right to self-defense against any attack on Americans in the region.[/size]

    Austin explained. “We reserve the right to respond decisively against the two groups, Kataib Hezbollah in Iraq and Harakat al-Nujaba, to confront threats and attacks against American and coalition forces.” Attacks by Iranian-backed militants undermine Iraq's sovereignty and stability[/size]

    [size=45]During his call with the Iraqi Prime Minister, Austin stressed that “attacks against American forces must stop.”[/size]

    The American embassy compound in Baghdad was reportedly bombed by about seven mortar shells during an attack that occurred early Friday, according to what an American military official revealed.[/size]
