The Commission’s Government Media and Communications Office stated in a statement received by Alsumaria News, “The Commission received the accused (Nael Nasib Abdel Rahman al-Samarrai) from the Egyptian authorities, after he was transferred to Iraq this morning, in preparation for presenting him before the judicial authorities, to determine his fate in light of the cases.” The criminal case that was opened against him and investigated by the Commission, noting the continuous follow-up and diligent efforts made by the Commission’s Recovery Department to follow up on the accused in four countries across three continents, until the moment he was caught in Cairo.”

The office added, “The convict committed embezzlement and forgery during his work at the airline company and committed electronic blackmail, in addition to obtaining privileges and contracts that were suspected of corruption in his capacity as a commercial intermediary through his relationships with former ministers, businessmen, and officials working in the aviation sector.” .

It is worth noting that the head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, during his visit to Cairo in September of last year, handed the Egyptian Minister of Justice, Counselor Amr Marwan, a list of the names of a number of those wanted by the Iraqi judiciary whose presence was proven on the territory of the Arab Republic of Egypt, where The Egyptian Minister of Justice confirmed that he was following up on the issue and giving it the utmost importance, and a memorandum of understanding was concluded between the Federal Integrity Commission and the Egyptian Administrative Oversight, one of the first results of which was this handover process.
