    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Friday (January 19, 2024), the Federal Integrity Commission announced that it had recovered one of the accused who fled from the Arab Republic of Egypt, explaining that the accused had committed embezzlement, forgery, and extortion.
The Commission’s Government Media and Communications Office said in a statement, received by “Baghdad Today,” that “the Commission received the accused (Nael Nassib Abdel Rahman al-Samarrai) from the Egyptian authorities, after he was transferred to Iraq this morning, in preparation for presenting him before the judicial authorities, to decide his fate in In light of the criminal cases that were opened against him and investigated by the Commission,” noting “the continuous follow-up and diligent efforts made by the Commission’s Recovery Department to follow up on the accused in four countries across three continents, until the moment he was arrested in Cairo.”
The office added, “The convict committed embezzlement and forgery during his period of work at the airline company and committed electronic blackmail operations, in addition to obtaining privileges and contracts surrounding suspicions of corruption in his capacity as a commercial intermediary through his relationships with former ministers, businessmen, and officials working in the aviation sector.” ".
It is worth noting that “the head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, during his visit to Cairo in September of last year, handed the Egyptian Minister of Justice, Counselor Amr Marwan, a list of the names of a number of those wanted by the Iraqi judiciary whose presence was proven on the territory of the Arab Republic of Egypt.” .
While the Egyptian Minister of Justice confirmed that he was following up on the issue and giving it the utmost importance, a memorandum of understanding was concluded between the Federal Integrity Commission and the Egyptian Administrative Oversight, one of the first fruits of which was this handover process.
