The head of the Iranian Central Headquarters for the Arbaeen Visit, Seyyed Majeed Mir Ahmadi, and the Security Advisor to the Iraqi Interior Minister, Saad Maan, signed, this morning, Wednesday (February 7, 2024), a cooperation agreement to coordinate the celebration of the upcoming Arbaeen Visit ceremony.
Media sources indicated that "on the sidelines of the meeting of the Joint Arbaeen Committee between Iran and Iraq this morning, officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq signed a cooperation agreement to coordinate the revival of the Arbaeen ceremonies for next year at the headquarters of the Iranian Ministry of Interior."
Yesterday, the Iraqi delegation headed by the security advisor to the Iraqi Interior Minister, Saad Maan, arrived in Tehran and met with the Iranian Interior Minister, Ahmed Vahidi, and the head of the Iranian Central Headquarters for the Arbaeen Visit, Sayyed Majeed Mir Ahmadi.
During the meeting between the head of the Iranian Central Headquarters for the Arbaeen Visit, Seyyed Majeed Mir Ahmadi, with the Iraqi delegation in the form of the joint Arbaeen Committee between the two countries, “the two sides discussed issues related to the Arbaeen ceremony of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), facilitating the movement of visitors, security issues, and some other issues related to these ceremonies,” according to the sources. .
This is the second meeting of the 40th joint committee between the two countries after the last 40th visit ceremony. In the first meeting hosted by Baghdad, a draft agreement was drawn up and after reviewing it, it was signed today by both parties.
