[size=45]The Council of Ministers issued a number of decisions during its regular session on Tuesday, including stopping deductions from advances for employees and retirees for one month.[/size]
[size=45]The Prime Minister’s Media Office said in a statement, “Today, Tuesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani chaired the tenth regular session of the Council of Ministers, which witnessed the discussion of the general situation, many service and economic files, and the topics on the agenda, and the appropriate decisions were taken regarding them.”[/size]
[size=45]The Prime Minister directed the ministries and service agencies to take a number of measures with the advent of the holy month, including:
- Continuing and strengthening the measures taken by the Ministries of Trade and Agriculture, to confront the rise in meat prices and reduce their impact on citizens.
- Strengthening the ration card and food basket, with additional items; To ease the burden on citizens.
– Stopping deductions from advances for employees and retirees, for one month.
- Following up and paying attention to the meals provided to our various types of armed forces, and directing, with the participation of commanders and commanders, the rituals of the holy month to members of their units and formations.
– Guidance to all state departments, to follow up on the needs of nursing homes and all residential homes, and to provide full care and meet their requirements.
– Calling on the private sector and economic and commercial institutions to participate in supporting citizens, solidarity and providing facilities during the holy month of Ramadan, and alleviating the burdens that fall on fragile and poor groups.[/size]
[size=45]In following up on housing projects, the Council agreed to authorize the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities to contract with the competent authorities to establish residential cities, according to the investment method for housing projects referred to investment in all governorates.
Regarding the progress of implementation of traffic congestion relief projects, the Council of Ministers decided to amend the contracting ceiling fixed in the first paragraph of Cabinet Resolution (23017 of 2023), amended by Council of Ministers Resolution (23613 of 2023), to be 3 trillion dinars, to proceed with completing contractual procedures for traffic congestion relief projects. traffic; Including the projects of the first package, provided that their allocations are secured within the 2024 budget, without requesting additional allocations.
The Council also agreed to send draft instructions for investment and partnership between the public sector and the private sector to the State Council for review, in coordination with representatives of the relevant authorities, within two working weeks.
The Council took a number of decisions listed on its agenda, as follows:
First: Allocating the land of the Police College indicated in the review of the Ministry of Interior/Directorate of Engineering Works to the aforementioned ministry according to the Council of Ministers’ decision (69 of 2022).
Secondly: Recommending to the House of Representatives to withdraw the draft law on the first amendment to the General Population and Housing Census Law No. (40) of 2008, sent by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers on February 2, 2020, and to cancel Cabinet Decision (256 of 2019).
Third: Approving the recommendation of the Ministerial Council for Human Development (24007B), which includes adding the Minister of Immigration and Displacement to the membership of the Ministerial Council for Human Development, and the Chairman of the Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority to the aforementioned Council, according to Article (20) of the internal regulations of the Council of Ministers.
Fourth: Approval of canceling the fifth paragraph of Council of Ministers Resolution (92 of 2020) regarding granting documents for the medical, health, and nursing professions and launching the granting of graduation documents and certificates without restrictions or conditions to those appointed to the staff of the Ministry of Health and other ministries, those leaving work and those not appointed, according to the Ministry of Health’s request on April 4. October 2023 and February 19, 2024.
Within the framework of following up on infrastructure projects and service projects, and completing lagging projects, the Council of Ministers decided the following:
First: Approval of the following:
1. Increasing the total cost of the project (Awqaf Bridge Interchange in Ramadi). To become (21,025,212,000 dinars).
2. The Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works bears responsibility for the accuracy of the data and information sent to the Ministry of Planning.
Secondly/
1. Increasing the total cost of the project (preparing and implementing the conveyor line for rainwater drainage for the southern region/Fallujah) to become (137,520,923,346 dinars).
2. The competent committees in the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works are responsible for pricing items and setting specifications. Being the competent authority.
Third/
1. Increasing the total cost of the project (construction of a heavy rainwater sewer network with lifting stations in Al-Abbas neighborhood + Al-Samoud neighborhood 1 + Al-Samoud neighborhood 2 - cabins) to become (70,107,975,971 dinars).
2. Salah al-Din Governorate is responsible for the validity and accuracy of the data and information submitted to the Ministry of Planning and the procedures taken by it.
Fourthly/
1. Modifying the total cost of the project (paving locality 225 of Al-Zuhur District) to be (4,548,800,300 dinars).
2. Increasing the total cost of the paving project for areas 215 and 225 in Al-Zuhur District to become (9,183,922,800 dinars).
3. Baghdad Governorate bears full responsibility for the paragraphs added to the original statement and the amounts in excess of the approved costs for the project.[/size]
