    The Minister of Commerce, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi, stressed the importance of supporting efforts made to enhance Arab economic integration.
    The Ministry’s media stated in a statement, “The Minister of Commerce, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi, headed the delegation of the Republic of Iraq in the meetings of the Economic and Social Council at the ministerial level, which began in Manama under the umbrella of the League of Arab States in preparation for holding the 33rd session of the Arab Summit in Bahrain.”
    Minister Al-Ghurairi said in his speech during the meetings: “This meeting comes in light of many important and accelerating changes and developments in the world and our region, especially in light of the economic and social crises and their repercussions, which calls for strengthening our Arab environment by coordinating our national policies to deal with international challenges in a positive and effective manner in accordance with to developments in the global economy.”
    The minister added: “The files on the agenda are of great importance, especially those related to the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and the establishment of the Arab Customs Union, in addition to the files related to the health sector and financial security, which constitute basic pillars for supporting sustainable development and economic integration.”
    Minister Al-Ghurairi stressed “the importance of supporting all efforts made and cooperating in order to achieve the desired goals and enhance economic integration,” stressing “the importance of creating a state of balance in our economy and enhancing financial and economic stability.”
    Regarding the Palestinian issue, the minister stressed “Iraq’s support for all UN and international efforts aimed at taking decisive decisions to stop the Zionist machine of destruction and death and opening corridors for the arrival of food, medical and in-kind aid and treating the injured and wounded.”[/size]
