The Kurdistan Democratic Party, “Party,” launched a “stinging” attack on the leader of the New Generation Movement, Shaswar Abdul Wahed, describing him as an “encyclopedia of corruption” that brought a leader in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party to the Iraqi Parliament. So why this attack?
The “Infoplus” network report highlights the most prominent aspects of the Parti Party’s conversations and the repercussions of the case.
A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Rebin Salam, confirms today, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, that “the Kurdish opposition, especially the new generation led by Shaswar Abdul Wahid, is practicing populist rhetoric,” pointing out that “in Kurdistan there is a second generation of the opposition that calls itself (the new generation). “His goal is to achieve other goals that differ from the idea of the opposition.”
He added, “Shaswar Abdul Wahid is riding the wave of suffering of the citizens of the region, and is trying in any way to strike Kurdistan.” Adding, “The one whose house is made of glass should not hit others,” as a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party pointed out, “The new generation and its leader are (the encyclopedia of corruption), and there are hundreds of lawsuits against their leader, who appeared without any sacrifice and wants to become the leader of the opposition.” “And absorbing the negative effects of short-term files.”
He stated, “The issues and files of the New Generation are not real and are (populist), and the other evidence is that 8 members of the former Kurdistan Regional Parliament were from the New Generation bloc, all of whom turned against Shaswar Abdul Wahid.”
He pointed out, “Because of the new generation, a representative has arrived in the Federal Parliament, and he is a figure close to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, and this is an extremely dangerous matter,” adding that “the new generation and its leader are the root of corruption, due to scams and devious methods of collecting money, and they have debts.” A huge sum of up to 100 million dollars belongs to the banks in the region,” noting that “every time they are asked to pay this money, they raise corruption files.”
Salam stated, “The corruption of any party in the region and Iraq does not reach 5% of the corruption of this party, its leader, and the family of its leader, who talk about fighting corruption.”
In addition, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafa Muhammad Karim, revealed that there are 220 cases against Shaswar Abdul Wahid due to files of corruption, forgery, and fraud against citizens in the regions of the region.
Member Karim said, “The New Generation Bloc and its leader, Shaswar Abdul Wahed, have 220 cases against them in the region and the Sulaymaniyah courts due to corruption, forgery, and defrauding citizens,” noting that “these people are trying to rise in the elections by accusing others, and they must reform themselves and fight their corruption that is exposed to all.” My parents, especially Shaswar Abdul Wahid and his brothers.”
Karim pointed out, “The former representative of the New Generation Bloc, Kazem Farouk, was poisoned, and yesterday he spoke in a video in which he revealed that, earlier, he had exposed a corruption file related to telecommunications companies and their seriousness, especially the tower issue, but this file was hidden by the owner of the NRT channel.” Shaswar Abdul Wahid, who received large sums of money from those companies.”
He continued, “The accusations by the New Bloc that the Kurdistan Region smuggles dollars to Turkey are false and false accusations.”
On (July 29, 2019), the Sulaymaniyah Investigation Court issued an arrest warrant for the head of the New Generation Movement, Shaswar Abdul Wahed, authorizing the security services to arrest him and hand him over to the law. A letter from the Sulaymaniyah Court indicated that a decision was issued to arrest the head of the New Generation Movement, Shaswar Abdul Wahid, in accordance with Article 456 of the Iraqi Penal Code.
It was also stated in the book that for this purpose, the court assigned the security services to arrest Abdel Wahed to hand him over to the law. The origin of the article is widely circulated in Iraq because it is linked to corrupt operations and its owner is described as “56”, an abbreviation for Article 456 of the Iraqi Penal Code No. 111 of 1969.
Shaswar Abdul Wahid Qadir Ibrahim is an Iraqi Kurdish businessman, media figure, and politician, founder of the NRT channel, and honorary president of the Sulaymaniyah Club. He was also known for his opposition to the Kurdistan Regional Government. He also opposed holding a referendum on Kurdistan’s secession from Iraq on September 25, 2017, and led a movement called “No at this time.”
