Today, Tuesday, the Federal Supreme Court issued a clarification regarding the implementation of its decision regarding the benefits of employees of the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
The court stated in a statement received by Mawazine News, “With regard to the measures taken by the Ministry of Finance in implementation of the ruling decision issued by the Federal Supreme Court No. (224 and consolidated 269/Federal/2024) dated 2/21/2024 regarding the payment of the dues of employees of the Kurdistan region, The localization mechanism requires a period of time based on the letter of the Federal Ministry of Finance regarding financing the account under Letter No. (6369) dated 11/3/2024, so it is the duty of the Kurdistan Regional Government to cooperate and coordinate with the Federal Ministry of Finance in this regard.
She added, "The purpose of the Federal Supreme Court's decision regarding the process of nationalizing salaries is to guarantee the rights of employees in the region, to preserve their strength and to achieve social justice, and since the process of nationalization requires a sufficient period of time to complete it, therefore, the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the regional government must “Accelerating and making efforts to achieve the nationalization process, provided that the salaries of the remaining employees whose salaries localization process has not been completed for technical reasons will be paid in cash until the full salary localization process is completed.”
