There are no signs of early elections being held

Although there are about 18 months remaining in the current legislative session, there is talk behind and in front of the scenes about amending the election law and perhaps heading towards early elections.
No political party officially adopted the call for early elections, in light of political stability that prompted the government to continue its work and implement its program, which includes holding early elections.
Representative Thaer Al-Jubouri denied any parliamentary tendency towards holding early elections, stressing that political parties have the right to present their views regarding the election law.
Al-Jubouri told “Al-Sabah”: “There is no intention to hold early elections, and no representative is thinking in this direction.” He added, “When the government was formed, (the State Administration Coalition) agreed to the proposal for early elections, especially since this issue is consistent with the Sadrist movement’s demand for them.” He stressed, “Early elections will not be held due to time constraints, as there are only 18 months remaining in the legislative session.”
He added that “amending the election law fluctuates between the formula of (Saint Legault) and (direct election), and there are visions for each representative or party, and some are studying the benefit or harm to their list according to some laws,” and he indicated that “the political parties studied their electoral experience according to the official results.” “For the elections, and therefore the details of the election law and its suitability for some parties.”
The government's platform included a clause related to holding early elections within one year, which was not implemented, while provincial council elections were held for the first time in 10 years.
The researcher in political affairs, Dr. Saif Al-Saadi, pointed out that there are no signs of accelerating the elections, despite their agreement in the government program.
Al-Saadi told “Al-Sabah”: “There are no signs of holding early elections despite the inclusion of this item in the political agreement that formed the government.” He added, “It is the vision of some political blocs, but it is not the vision of the Prime Minister, and if we look at the government program, we will find that it was voted on.” With one basket,” adding that “Al-Sudani’s vision does not include
early elections.”
He explained that "some blocs are seeking to amend the election law, but they have not specified the exact date for the early elections, which seems ambiguous," and he warned that "the early elections proposal came after the formation of the government to get rid of the effects of the conflict between the Sadrist movement and the coordination framework," indicating that " The provincial council elections are not considered early elections, because they have not been held since 2013.”
Al-Saadi expected that “one of the political blocs would go to the Federal Court due to non-implementation of the government curriculum, which is considered higher than the law because voting on it took place within Parliament based on Article 76 Fourth of the Constitution,” and pointed out that “there are binding time limits, but some of the parties forming the government disavowed it.” From this matter, there is disagreement between more than one party regarding the early elections,” revealing “there is a fear that the Sudanese will obtain higher seats than others in the upcoming elections, so there is talk about amending the election law because it is related to a technical mechanism.”
He pointed out that "there are currently no signs of going to early elections with a year and a half remaining in the current legislative session, given that Article 54 of the Constitution specifies the life of Parliament at four calendar years starting from the first session."
