Today, Wednesday (April 3, 2024), an informed source revealed the reasons for the Federal Ministry of Finance’s delay in sending the amounts allocated for the salaries of employees in Kurdistan.
The source said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “Baghdad will send the salaries of employees in Kurdistan for the month of March in the form of sums and not through resettlement.”
He added, "Sending the amount may be delayed due to the Ministry of Finance of the regional government sending lists of promotions and bonuses to educational and teaching staff, which increased the total amounts allocated for salaries."
He pointed out that "the regional government did not send the lists of the Peshmerga, the military, the Zirvani, and the Asayish, and was content with their symbols. Therefore, the process of sending the amounts may be delayed until next week or after the Eid holiday."
In light of the decision of the Federal Supreme Court to oblige Baghdad and Erbil to localize the salaries of Kurdistan employees in federal banks, extensive movements are being made to resolve the file of numbers, grades, job titles, and the cost of salaries for the region’s employees in full, to create a database for them in Baghdad and then issue electronic cards to receive salaries directly, away from Financial disputes between Baghdad and Erbil.
