    Baghdad Today - Translation
Today, Thursday (April 11, 2024), The Times of Israel newspaper revealed that “members of the Democratic Party within the US Congress” are exerting pressure on the Iraqi government through the US administration to secure the release of the kidnapped Israeli citizen in Iraq, Elizabeth Tsurkov.
The newspaper said, according to what was translated by (Baghdad Today), that American politicians are “disturbed” by the continued kidnapping of the Israeli citizen in Iraq for more than a year without any actual efforts to secure her release, stressing that “the administration of US President Joe Biden must take advantage of "The positive relations it enjoys with Baghdad to secure Tsurkov's release."
The Israeli newspaper also confirmed that American politicians asked Biden to secure Tsurkov’s release before Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani’s visit to the White House scheduled for the 15th of this month, noting that the charges made against her of working for the Israeli Mossad were “incorrect,” according to their description. .
It is noteworthy that Tsurkov admitted in a video clip that she entered Iraq at the request of the Israeli Mossad, confirming that she previously worked within the Israeli army intelligence, in addition to coordinating with the American intelligence agency, the CIA.
The newspaper did not reveal the nature of the pressure that American politicians were exerting on Baghdad to release Tsurkov, only confirming that they were "trying" to secure her exit from Iraq before the date of Al-Sudani's visit to Washington.
