    [rtl]Baghdad - Iraq today:[/rtl]
[rtl]A member of the House of Representatives, Moeen Al-Kadhimi, confirmed that there are efforts being made by the Sunni parties to resolve the issue of the Speaker of Parliament during today’s session, Saturday, while indicating that the session may be postponed if the quorum isbroken.

Al-Kadhimi said in a press interview, “It is not possible to decide definitively on the personality of who will become Speaker of Parliament, whether it is Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani or Salem Al-Issawi, as the two parties have specifications almost agreed upon by the political blocs.”

The member of the House of Representatives added, “Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani has long experience in the political and parliamentary field, and is accepted by many parties, and Salem Al-Issawi also has the ability to manage parliamentary sessions and is accepted by the blocs “

He pointed out that "resolving the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives may be delayed until Saturday evening," noting that "there are efforts made by the Sunni parties, progress, autonomy, and determination to resolve the issue of the Speaker of Parliament "

Al-Kadhimi pointed out, “The forces of the coordinating framework supported have not decided their position finally, with the exception of the State of Law coalition, which publicly supported Mahmoud al-Mashhadani.”

Al-Kadhimi did not rule out postponing tomorrow's session if a quorum is broken and a majority is not achieved.

The nomination for the position is almost limited to Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, the former Speaker of Parliament, and MP Salem Al-Issawi, who received the second highest votes during the first round of the parliamentary presidential elections.[/rtl]
