    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Security expert, retired Major General Imad Alo, commented today, Thursday (June 20, 2024), on the possibility of renewed conflict between the Iraqi armed factions and the Americans after the appointment of the new ambassador by Washington, Tracy Jacobson.
Alo told "Baghdad Today", "Renewed conflict and tension between the factions and the American side through mutual bombing operations is expected at any moment, especially since the truce between the two parties is subject to collapse and is linked to the current situation in Iraq and the region in general."
He added, "Washington's appointment of a new ambassador to Iraq carries clear agendas to fight those factions. It will certainly have an impact on the calm between the factions and the Americans, but Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani has worked and will work to continue that calm to prevent any actions that threaten security stability, especially since "Any security escalation will have a major impact on government stability."
The professor of political science at the University of Mosul, Mahmoud Ezzo, gave an academic reading about the American role in Iraq with the arrival of the new ambassador, Tracy Jacobson.
Izzo said in a previous interview with “Baghdad Today” that “talking about the possibility that Israel might push the new American ambassador to Iraq to launch attacks on the armed factions in Iraq in order to cover up their failure in Gaza is not possible,” citing the reasons as “Israel does not control In American policy, the White House administration deals with Iraq with great privacy because it uses it against its allies and opponents at the same time.”
Ezzo added, "The launching of attacks by Washington is not related to the issue of Israel and its failure in the war on Gaza. Rather, it is related to American interests, and it is exercising military and diplomatic roles in this direction, to the extent that it placed the CERAM system in its embassy in Baghdad."
He pointed out that "the media exchange between the factions and America is related to several issues, including whether or not to participate in running the government, and not the presence of the new ambassador." He pointed out that the Sudanese government made promises to the factions that launch attacks, and any change in this path will be embarrassing for the states because it will show their inability to control the rhythm. General, pointing out that controlling the situation will ultimately prevail due to the challenges of any open conflicts.
