    Economy News - Baghdad
Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Transport revealed the latest developments in Al-Faw Port and the completion rates for the five berths, and while setting the opening date for the first phase of the project, it touched on the road linking Al-Faw Port and the city of Umm Qasr.
The Director of Information at the Ministry of Transport, Maytham Al-Safi, said in an interview with Al-Eqtisad News, “The four berths in Al-Faw Port were completed several months ago, in addition to Berth No. 5, which was completed a short while ago,” indicating that “the completion rates in... The five berths reach 95%.”
He added, "The berths will be fully received in the tenth month of the current year," stressing that "the first phase of the Al-Faw Port project will be received in 2025."
As for the road linking the port of Al-Faw and the city of Umm Qasr, he stated that the completion rate on this road currently stands at 78%, and 80% for the bridges entering the project, of which there are two bridges.
The Ministry of Transport’s media director explained: “There are no obstacles facing the project, and things are proceeding very smoothly, as the tenth piece of casting in the submerged tunnel has been completed, and we will witness the coming days filling the tunnel with water.”
