    An informed political source revealed, today, Saturday (July 20, 2024), an expected visit by a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government to receive the payrolls of the region’s employees.
    The source told Baghdad Today, "A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government will visit the capital, Baghdad, soon to deliver the list of employees' salaries for the current month of July."
    On Saturday (April 20, 2024), Muthanna Amin, a member of the House of Representatives for the Kurdistan Islamic Union, revealed an expected visit by a Kurdish delegation to the Federal Court within the next two weeks .
    Amin said in a press conference followed by "Baghdad Today" that the aim of the visit is to know the legal position of the court in deciding the salaries of martyrs and political prisoners in the region and the possibility of equating them with their counterparts, by filing a lawsuit with the court in this regard .
    Amin praised the Federal Court’s decision regarding the salaries of the region’s employees, explaining that this decision contributed to the release of 3 salaries in less than a month, which contributed to the recovery of the situation in the Kurdistan provinces, stressing that the disbursement of the remaining three salaries from last year is not within the court’s jurisdiction .
    On February 21, the Federal Court decided to “oblige Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, to localize the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees at outlets spread across the region or banks open and licensed by the Central Bank of Iraq, and to deduct them from the region’s budget for this year and the coming years .”
    The Federal Court also obligated the Iraqi government to release funding for the region’s salaries after their settlement, and not to finance employees’ salaries through loans, in addition to obligating all supervisory bodies to audit the data of Kurdistan employees .
    She stressed "the obligation to submit the monthly budget of the region's employees to the Federal Ministry of Finance," emphasizing that "the decision to localize the salaries of the Kurdistan Region's employees is a final and binding decision ."
    The Federal Supreme Court said on Tuesday (March 12, 2024) that "the purpose of the decision to localize the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees is to guarantee their rights ."
    A statement by the court media received by "Baghdad Today" stated that "regarding the measures taken by the Ministry of Finance in implementation of the decision of the ruling issued by the Federal Supreme Court No. (224 and its unified 269 / Federal / 2024) dated 2/21/2024 regarding the disbursement of the dues of employees of the Kurdistan Region, and explained that the settlement mechanism requires a period of time based on the letter of the Federal Ministry of Finance regarding financing the account under letter No. (6369) dated 3/11/2024, so it is the duty of the Kurdistan Regional Government to cooperate and coordinate with the Federal Ministry of Finance in this regard ."
    He explained that "the purpose of the Federal Supreme Court's decision regarding the process of localizing salaries is to guarantee the rights of employees in the region, to preserve their strength and to achieve social justice. Since the localization process requires a sufficient period of time to complete it, the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the regional government must expedite and make efforts to achieve the localization process, so that the salaries of the remaining employees whose salary localization process was not completed for technical reasons are paid in cash until the salary localization process is completed in full."
