    The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities confirmed today, Friday, that it will begin implementing the fourth ring road and linking it to all of Baghdad's main entrances. 
    The ministry's spokesman, Nabil Al-Saffar, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, followed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "the ministry is completing many projects in the governorates, including the ring roads, including those in the governorates of Mosul, Wasit, Kirkuk and Dhi Qar, in addition to what it was assigned to implement projects to relieve traffic congestion in the capital, Baghdad," noting that "the ministry will begin implementing the fourth ring road around Baghdad and linking it to all the main entrances to Baghdad." 
    He added that "the congestion relief projects are carefully studied to lead to linking the main arterial roads, as well as creating connecting paths that link the southern and northern entrances to Baghdad and thus linking them to the ring road, which will lead to reducing traffic congestion and transferring the movement of vehicles coming from the north to the south and vice versa and from the west to the east and vice versa without passing through Baghdad."
    The Ministry of Construction and Housing had previously confirmed that this year will witness the commencement of the Fourth Ring Road, with a length of 94 km and a width of 100 meters.
    It pointed out that the road will be a path for the movement of cars and large loads, especially from north to south and vice versa, without passing through the city of Baghdad, indicating that the road will relieve pressure on the streets of the capital, and will be implemented starting from the old entrance to Baqubah to the new Sadr City and from there to the Baghdad-Diyala intersection in the Bab al-Sham area and meets the Baghdad-Kirkuk road from the side of the people and continues towards the Muthanna Bridge and from there to the Ibn Manzur intersection or the Taji roundabout.
