[size=45]Energy expert Khaled Al-Rawi called for the need to enact an energy law in Iraq, pointing out the importance of this step in regulating the sector and ensuring the effective exploitation of natural resources.[/size]
[size=45]Al-Rawi said, “This law will be a decisive step towards regulating the energy sector in the country,” stressing that “the absence of clear legislation regulating the industry could lead to chaos, hinder private sector investments, and limit the state’s ability to exploit its resources effectively.”[/size]
[size=45]He added, “The energy law can contribute to achieving economic and political stability, as it will provide a legal framework that guarantees the rights and duties of all concerned parties, from the government, companies and investors. It can also enhance transparency and reduce corruption, by defining the standards and procedures necessary for the use and distribution of resources.”[/size]
[size=45]Al-Rawi added, “The enactment of this law will contribute to improving the efficiency of natural resources management, and enhance investment opportunities in the energy sector, especially in the fields of oil, gas and renewable energy,” noting that “it contributes to achieving sustainable development and providing new job opportunities, which enhances the stability of the Iraqi economy.”[/size]
[size=45]The energy expert called for “the necessity of involving all relevant parties in the process of drafting the law, to ensure that the needs and requirements of all parties are met and to achieve the maximum possible benefit from the country’s resources.”[/size]
[size=45]He added, "The law will contribute to enhancing transparency, attracting investments, and achieving sustainable economic stability," calling for "the involvement of all concerned parties in drafting the law to ensure maximum benefit for the country."[/size]
[size=45]For his part, member of the Parliamentary Energy and Electricity Committee, Ahmed Al-Salmani, revealed the importance of enacting the energy law, stressing that “Iraq has projects to rely on clean energy sources in the electricity sector.”[/size]
[size=45]Al-Salmani said, “The enactment of the law facilitates the process of benefiting from solar energy and hydroelectric energy,” pointing to “Iraq’s need to diversify energy sources and complete clean energy projects.”[/size]
[size=45]He explained, "The renewable energy project law is about to be approved in the House of Representatives," noting that "the draft law allows the use of clean and environmentally friendly energy, in addition to investing in the purchase of solar energy and hydroelectric energy."[/size]
