Baghdad Today publishes the text of the twenty-first amendment to the Personnel Law No. 25 of 1960, which was published by the Iraqi Gazette (official), today, Monday, (August 26, 2024).

The Ministry of Health stated in a statement that "in continuation of the efforts of the Ministry of Health to lift the settlement of a segment of its members, the Iraqi Gazette, No. 4790, issued on August 26, 2024, published Law No. 19 of 2024 (the twenty-first amendment to the Staff Law No. 25 of 1960), regarding raising job settlement and creating job titles based on the draft staff law, in a way that achieves harmony between job titles and academic qualifications of employees and guarantees the employee's legal right to promotion. It had been submitted by the Ministry of Health in February 2023 and was approved by the Council of Ministers and sent to the Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee."
It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives voted on July 24, 2024, on the draft law amending the twenty-first law of the Personnel Law No. (25) of 1960, “in order to achieve harmony between job titles and academic qualifications of employees by adding new job titles to meet the needs of state departments for various specializations in light of the requirements of public facilities management and modern scientific variables and to create new job titles to ensure that the employee continues with the same job title until reaching the degree he legally deserves.”
