Al-Imar to {Sabah}: Efforts to resolve the problems of 6 new residential cities

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities is working with the relevant sectoral bodies to resolve the issues related to referring six new residential cities to investment companies.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Istibraq Sabah, explained to “Al-Sabah” that the ministry is currently working to resolve some of the problems that prevented the referral of six new residential cities to investment companies, distributed among the governorates of Anbar, Salah al-Din, Basra, Wasit, Maysan and Dhi Qar, stressing that these challenges facing the referral of these cities prompted the ministry and the New Cities Implementation Authority to hold meetings with the relevant sectoral bodies, in order to find the necessary solutions for them.
He explained that the problems relate to the difficulty of transferring ownership of the land to the newly established municipal departments to establish the new cities, in addition to the fact that some of the lands are related to agricultural contracts or contain electricity lines or water pipes, in addition to the fact that some of them are part of projects affiliated with other ministries and departments outside the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Construction. Sabah pointed out that once these problems are resolved, the ministry will initiate the necessary administrative and technical procedures to refer the aforementioned cities to investment companies for the purpose of starting implementation, especially since there are major companies with large capital and experience in establishing cities that have expressed their willingness to implement.
