Diyala Criminal Court issued a two-year prison sentence on Monday (September 9, 2024) against a notary public from Bani Saad, on charges of issuing forged powers of attorney in 2023.
The media center of the Supreme Judicial Council explained in a statement received by "Mawazine News" that "the convict agreed with another defendant to issue forged powers of attorney for deceased and detained persons, or those residing outside the country."
He added that "the ruling was issued in accordance with the provisions of Resolution 160/Second/1 of 1983 and in reference to Article 132/3 of the Penal Code
