Government organizes national conference to support private sector

The Ministry of Trade will hold the first national conference to support the private sector in the country early next month, aiming to advance the national economy by preparing an investment map.
The Director of the Private Sector Development Department at the Ministry, Ibtihal Hashim Sabit, told Al-Sabah: Her department is preparing to hold the first national conference for the private sector, aiming to advance the national economy. It will be held on October 5, with the attendance of major local and international entities, and figures from the private sector, unions and syndicates.
She added that the conference’s dialogue sessions will discuss and raise the problems and obstacles facing the work of the private sector, and seek to find appropriate solutions for them. It will also include the signing of memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements with international figures, businessmen, organizations and syndicates.
Hashem stressed her department's interest in finding solutions to the obstacles facing the private sector, noting that recently, several memoranda of cooperation and agreements have been signed with various entities with the aim of supporting and qualifying the private sector and preparing feasibility studies for economic and commercial projects, in addition to cooperating with international labor organizations to issue a guide on the mechanisms for registering companies for small and medium enterprises to serve as a reference for business owners, in addition to other agreements with the World Bank on entrepreneurship.
She stated that her department has cooperation with the House of Wisdom Foundation to train young graduates to integrate them into the labor market, in addition to other initiatives such as (Hope Maker), which is concerned with developing the skills of rural women by training them in sewing and other small projects, in addition to the community initiative in cooperation with the private sector to help the vulnerable and poor classes in society, in addition to organizing intensive training courses to develop the skills of workers in the public and private sectors, and training units in all governorates, in addition to organizing training courses in the administrative, accounting, legal, anti-corruption, building competencies and developing institutional performance.
