The Parliamentary Education Committee confirmed, today, Monday, working to obtain a third round for students who failed in the final stages of the academic year ending 2023-2024, especially with the presence of a high failure rate in the second round, especially for sixth-grade students.

Committee member Taama Al-Lahibi said that the committee submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Education regarding granting those who failed the second round of the final primary, intermediate and preparatory stages for the 2023-2024 academic year a third round, according to the government newspaper Al-Sabah.

He added that the committee also submitted a proposal to address the critical grades of those who failed in the second round of the non-final stages, but this matter is not exclusively related to the Ministry of Education, because the Council of Ministers is the one that issues the final decision in this regard in order to present the views of the higher authorities.

Al-Lahibi pointed out that the failure rate in the second round of the final stages is high, especially in the sixth preparatory stage, so the committee seeks to grant those who failed a third round, stressing that the committee will follow up on any discussion of the third round and address the critical grades of the non-final stages for those who failed in the second round of the academic year 2023-2024.
