    Today, Sunday (September 29, 2024), the member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Muhammad Amer Al-Dirshwi, responded to the speech of the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pavel Talabani, in which he called for the necessity of changing the ruling authority in the region, describing his party as the only one capable of correcting the course of government in Kurdistan.
    Al-Dirshwi, in his response via “Baghdad Today”, said, “The ruling system in the Kurdistan Region is a coalition, and the government is formed by the Democratic Party, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and the Change Movement. The failure is borne by all parties, and the crises are borne by all parties, and the Democratic Party alone should not be held responsible for any crisis.”
    He added, "The Patriotic Union is participating in the government and has the position of Deputy Prime Minister, which is held by Qubad Talabani, and the position of Deputy President of the Region, which is held by Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, and a number of ministers. It manages 50% of the region, specifically Sulaymaniyah and Halabja. If it holds the Democratic Union responsible for the failure and considers the government a failure, then why did it remain participating in it?"
    Al-Dirshwi expressed his surprise, saying: “The election campaign is supposed to respect people’s feelings, and each party will need the other because the government is a coalition, and therefore this propaganda and attempt to gain people’s emotions is wrong and unacceptable, and the Democrat relies on wise policy in the election campaign, and does not rely on the tension and provocation that Pavel Talabani or the leaders of the union rely on.”
    The head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pavel Talabani, said that his party is the only one capable of correcting the course of government in Kurdistan, while stressing the necessity of changing the ruling authority in the region.
    Talabani stressed during a speech at the carnival to introduce the candidates of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, which was followed by "Baghdad Today", on Sunday (September 29, 2024), that "the Patriotic Union is the only party capable of correcting the course of government in the Kurdistan Region," adding: "We are here today to support the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan List No. 129, and by relying on the masses of the people of Kurdistan, we will change the ruling authority and correct the course of government in the Kurdistan Region."
    Talabani explained, "We tried with all political parties to reach an agreement on the election law, but they refused. We went to many meetings with them, but they did not agree to that, so we went to the Federal Court and amended the law in a way that serves the interests of the people of Kurdistan."
    He continued, "The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is today much stronger than its enemies, much stronger than the rest of the parties and more loyal than them. We have amended the election law in a way that preserves everyone's rights. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is following the approach of President Mam Jalal and does not follow any other political party and is not affiliated with any party."
    The President of the Patriotic Union called for "going to the ballot boxes effectively and voting for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan list No. 129. I have a clear and explicit message to the youth, women and sons of the people of Kurdistan. The Prime Minister and the main ministries have been in the hands of a certain party for many years. Ask yourselves, are you satisfied with these conditions? Hundreds of our youth have left the country and migrated abroad. This country is a paradise and we have oil, gas and everything. Let us serve our country and work to develop it. Vote for the party that implements everything it says. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is the one that can change the course of government and implement your aspirations."
