Baghdad/Al-Masala: Bafel Talabani, the head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, stated from Erbil that his party had managed to end the authoritarian regime that had prevailed for a long time, pointing to the decline in the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s seats in parliament as evidence of that.
Talabani added that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will not give up its electoral decisions and promises, stressing that everyone needs each other at this stage.
In a related context, Talabani confirmed that his party will not be subjected to repression again, pointing out that the Kurdistan Democratic Party seeks to control the Peshmerga forces, which he considers a threat to the unity of the Kurdish ranks.
He stressed that the current government, especially the ninth cabinet, was the worst in the history of the Kurdistan Region, as it implemented wrong policies that led to the exacerbation of crises.
Talabani concluded his speech by stressing that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is continuing to achieve the aspirations of the people of Kurdistan, and that it does not fear competition, but rather looks forward to improving the situation in the region.
