    Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, inaugurated today, Wednesday, (Erbil Copper and Cables Company), which consists of six factories and is considered the first factory for copper, wires and cables in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
    The company's representative, Sadiq Muhammad, said in a speech he delivered during the opening ceremony of the factory, in the presence of Masrour Barzani, "This factory, which was built on an area of ​​70 dunums, contains several factories for producing wires and cables of various types and sizes."
    He added that this factory is considered the most advanced and modern, and we can supply the Kurdistan Region and Iraq markets with products, and we have been able to export them to Turkey and Greece, stressing that the company can export to all countries of the region and the world.
    Mohammed also pointed out that Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region, used to send copper waste abroad to be recycled and sent again, but now the company will do this job.
    The company representative continued by saying that the products will have an impact on the wire and cable market in the region and Iraq because the factory has the latest advanced technologies in this field, noting that the factory provides job opportunities for 700 families.
    In turn, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, said in a speech during the opening ceremony: We are proud that the industrial sector is moving towards progress, adding: We hope to benefit from the natural resources and treasures that we possess in producing the raw materials that go into industry.
    He considered that developing the industrial sector contributes to strengthening the infrastructure of the economy in the Kurdistan Region, adding, "We support the private sector to preserve local products."
    Masrour Barzani also pointed out his government's support for the company in order to export its products outside the country, stressing that the local products in the region are of high quality.
    He also said, "We want the industrial sector to go beyond the borders of Kurdistan," stressing "harnessing all capabilities in order to move the Kurdistan Region towards progress."
    The project (Erbil Copper and Cables Company) is a modern integrated factory and industrial complex for general trade - Limited, built on a vast area of ​​175 thousand square meters at a financial cost exceeding 80 million US dollars. It is also an industrial complex where all manufacturing processes are carried out starting from recycling copper waste to producing copper wires and cables.
    This company is the first factory for copper wires and cables in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. The factory is a strategic project, built by local workers. The factory’s products comply with international quality standards, as the purity of the copper used and its guarantees have been proven to reach 99.99%.
    The company aims to provide copper wire and cable supplies in Kurdistan Region, Iraq and other countries in the region. It also aims to provide support and services to all major industries, contractors and businessmen in Kurdistan Region.
