(Encyclopedia of this Day News | [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ) - Turkish Prime Minister Ben Ali Yildirim said that his country plans to open a new border port with Iraq in cooperation with the Iraqi government instead of the current crossing between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey.

He called on Yildirim "Baghdad to overcome the problem of the presence of Turkish soldiers in the north of the country", which caused a major diplomatic crisis between the two neighboring countries.

The Turkish prime minister claimed that Turkish soldiers in northern Iraq were training Iraqi forces in their response to terrorism.

The economic experts considered that Ankara is seriously considering closing the Khabur crossing with Erbil and finding an alternative crossing in coordination with the federal government in Baghdad, and that this step will be implemented gradually so as not to damage its economic relationship with Iraq.
