    Economy News - Follow-up
The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities submitted a proposal to the Council of Ministers to include young people working in the private sector in the residential complexes of the ministries, in addition to the new cities projects.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Istibraq Sabah, said in an interview with "Al-Sabah", followed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that the Minister of Construction, Benkin Rikani, held a meeting of the National Housing Council with the Baghdad Municipality and the National Investment Commission, to study a proposal submitted by the ministry that includes including the segment of young people working in the private sector in the residential complexes implemented by the ministries, as well as the new residential cities project currently being implemented in Baghdad and the governorates.
He added that the aim of the proposal is to encourage young people who do not have government jobs to work in the private sector in order to relieve the pressure on the government due to demands for appointment, and in line with the government program to support and encourage the private sector by all available means.
Sabah added that his ministry sent the proposal to the Council of Ministers for study and approval, and if it is completed, the controls for accepting this category will be set in coordination with the relevant ministries and the New Cities Implementation Authority.
He explained that the Council is also working on preparing the controls for including (21) categories in the new residential cities project, indicating that the criteria focus on determining the points of comparison between the segments to ensure the inclusion of the largest number of them in the project.
He stated that the categories included are the categories of employees and retirees from civilians and military personnel and beneficiaries of the institutions of political prisoners and martyrs, in addition to martyrs and wounded from the security institutions and the Popular Mobilization, beneficiaries of social protection and holders of higher degrees and members of unions other than employees, in addition to athletes who have achievements in their field, and there are categories that are nominated according to the powers and nomination of the Council of Ministers.
