    Hussein Al-Saadi:
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed the prosecution of speculators who exploit regional tensions to manipulate the exchange rate of the dinar against the dollar, and while stressing the need to intensify inspection procedures in financial transfer operations, he stressed to the French ambassador the importance of preventing the expansion of the circle of conflict in the region.
The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement: "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired a meeting dedicated to reviewing the comprehensive reform plan for the financial and banking sector in Iraq, in the presence of the Minister of Finance, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, and a number of advisors and directors of government banks." The Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement, “the need to intensify inspection procedures in financial transfers, and not to be lenient or lenient in pursuing speculators who exploit the crises the region is going through, in order to achieve personal profits and benefits at the expense of the public interest of the country, directing the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank and bank managers to simplify procedures for business owners, regarding financial transfers.” The Prime Minister directed “the formation of a working team to prepare packages to deal with the current economic and financial situation, and to restore investment tools in the Central Bank of Iraq and link them to the size of each bank’s deposits.” The statement continued, “During the meeting, financial reforms and monetary policies were discussed in light of the decisions taken by the Council of Ministers, as Al-Sudani directed to fully activate all decisions and review the obstacles that prevented the implementation of some of them.” The statement pointed out that “the meeting witnessed a discussion of the progress of work in the plans prepared within the framework of developing the work of banks, and the reform measures undertaken by bank administrations with Ernst & Young, and the level of progress achieved in this regard, in a way that ensures providing the best services to their customers.” The statement added that "the meeting discussed the facilities provided by banks in the field of attracting deposits, which enhances the role of the banking sector in financing projects and promoting economic development. Al-Sudani directed to review the benefits provided by banks to depositors." The statement concluded that "the meeting discussed the measures taken to encourage citizens to continue using electronic payment systems, which are witnessing a significant increase in the number of users. In this regard, Al-Sudani directed to study and launch a government incentive program to use electronic payment tools, including cash refunds." On the other hand, the Prime Minister's Media Office stated that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Dorrell, where they discussed the overall bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them, in addition to discussing the developments and events witnessed by the region. He added that the meeting witnessed the Prime Minister renewing his appreciation for the position of French President Emmanuel Macron, who rejects the supply of weapons to the Zionist entity, coinciding with the first anniversary of the outbreak of the events of October 7. He stressed the need to prevent the expansion of the conflict, and to work to enhance security and stability in the region, and the necessity of stopping the usurping entity from continuing to commit crimes in Palestine and Lebanon, amid the inability of the international community to take deterrent measures to the massacres against civilians, and to allow the delivery of aid and relief supplies to them.[/size]
