    The Independent High Electoral Commission confirmed the success of the special voting process for the elections of the sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliament, which took place today, Friday 10/18/2024, noting that the results of all stations were sent to the Commission’s headquarters in Baghdad.[/size]
    [size=45]During a press conference held by the Commission in Erbil this evening, the Commission announced that the participation rate in the special vote reached 97% overall (Erbil 97%, Sulaymaniyah 97%, Dohuk 98%, Halabja 96%).[/size]
    [size=45]The spokesman for the Central Committee for the Kurdistan Parliament Elections, Dr. Ayser Yassin, said: “The total number of voters was 205,960 voters, and the number of voters participating in the vote was 208,521 voters, 203,773 of whom were males, and 4,748 were females.”[/size]
    [size=45]He added: “The number of political entity observers at polling stations was 3,750, and the number of local observers was 1,926,” explaining that “the number of special voting centers was 165 centers, including 749 polling stations.”[/size]
    [size=45]For his part, Nabard Omar, head of the Election Commission in the Kurdistan Region, confirmed that the process was carried out with great success and that no noteworthy problems occurred, noting that the results of all stations were sent to the Commission’s headquarters in Baghdad.[/size]
    [size=45]Nabard Omar said: “As for the complaints, they will be decided upon once the ballot boxes are returned to Erbil, to determine their type and validity.”[/size]
    [size=45]Polling stations opened for special voting at 7:00 a.m. today and closed at 6:00 p.m., while general voting will take place on Sunday 10/20/2024.[/size]
