    This morning, Sunday (October 20, 2024), the general voting process for the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections began.
    Baghdad Today correspondent said that polling stations opened their doors to receive voters to cast their votes in the general ballot in the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections.
    It is noteworthy that the Independent High Electoral Commission announced yesterday, Saturday, the final report on the closing of the special ballot in the Kurdistan Region elections.
    According to the report issued by the Commission, and received by "Baghdad Today", "according to the procedures for the special voting process to elect the Kurdistan Regional Parliament of Iraq 2024 for its sixth session, the polling stations spread inside and outside the governorates of the region and other governorates were closed, and the electoral process took place until the ballot boxes were closed in a smooth manner and without any security breaches worth mentioning."
    She added that "the total number of open centers is (165) polling centers inside and outside the region's governorates, and the total number of polling stations reached (749) stations," stressing that "the total number of voters in the special vote reached (215,960) voters, of whom (208,521) people voted."
