Education denies opening a window for admission to postgraduate studies at private universities

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research denied opening a window for admission to postgraduate studies in private universities "inside the country", but it announced that it had granted three approvals to private universities to conduct twinning in postgraduate studies with reputable foreign universities. The official spokesman for the ministry, Dr. Haider Al-Aboudi, told Al-Sabah: "The ministry denies opening postgraduate studies (higher diploma, master's or doctorate) in private universities, similar to government universities."
He stressed that "the Ministry has provided a starting line for civil institutions that allows them to conduct twinning programs with reputable international universities," noting that "acceptance is within the international space, as the applicant student who meets the conditions is accepted into the foreign university in coordination and partnership between the two universities, especially since the preparatory year and writing the thesis are under the supervision of the foreign university."
