    Economy News - Follow-up
[rtl]Bitcoin rose more than 5% on Tuesday morning, crossing the $71,000 barrier for the first time since June.[/rtl]
[rtl]The currency's rise was supported by rising expectations of presidential candidate Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential elections, and positive statements from global financial institutions such as BlackRock and Vaneck.[/rtl]
[rtl]Bitcoin exchange-traded funds also recorded positive inflows yesterday of $472 million, the highest since October 14.[/rtl]
[rtl]Trump campaigned on a largely pro-cryptocurrency stance, promising to build a Bitcoin future in America. His campaign is also accepting cryptocurrency donations.[/rtl]
[rtl]The prospect of a Trump victory has traders betting on more friendly crypto regulations in the US — where regulation has been a major point of contention for the industry in recent years, especially amid a series of high-profile lawsuits from the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice.[/rtl]
[rtl]Harris also recently pledged a regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies, though further details of her plans were not immediately clear.[/rtl]
