[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / Acting Speaker of the Council of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandalawi stressed the necessity of resolving the election of a new Speaker of the Council of Representatives.

According to a statement by his media office, Al-Mandalawi called on the heads of parliamentary blocs and representatives of the people under the dome of the Council of Representatives to attend and participate widely in today's session, Thursday, dedicated to electing a Speaker of the Council of Representatives.

The Acting Speaker of the Council of Representatives said: "Representatives of all components are required to be present in the Council Hall to cast their votes to decide on the choice of a Speaker of the Legislative Authority," stressing the necessity of keeping political disputes and differences away from this important file, and that all national forces work with the principle of caution and responsibility to complete the constitutional entitlements that have been delayed for a long time, and that the session leads to the election of a Speaker who contributes to continuing the steps to strengthen the oversight and legislative role of the Council of Representatives. Al-

Mandalawi explained: "Resolving the election on this day is the entitlement of a component that is a partner and a foundation in the political process."

The Council of Representatives is scheduled to hold a session dedicated to electing a Speaker of the Council this afternoon, Thursday.

It is noteworthy that the position of Speaker of Parliament has been vacant for more than eleven months, after the Federal Supreme Court decided on November 14 of last year 2023 to terminate the membership of Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi. /End 2 [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][/rtl]
