The Ministry of Commerce, on Wednesday, that Iraq will turn from a net importer of grain to the source in the next two years .

BAGHDAD / Obelisk: The Ministry of Commerce, on Wednesday, that Iraq will turn from a net importer of grain to the source in the next two years as a result of the increase in the amount of grain marketed, while confirming that Iraq is open in Astiradth the best global origins to supply the needs of the grain.

The general director of the General Company for Grain Trade Saad Faris al-Hamdani through the word Iraq in the International Grains Council place in London in a statement seen by "obelisk", that "Iraq is making strenuous efforts to support the cultivation of grain through the use of modern methods of agriculture," noting that "Iraq will shift from importer of grain to the source in the next two years."

He said al-Hamdani said, "There is progress in the grain in all regions of the country growing as a result of the support given by the State of Iraq for the cultivation of such kind of important strategic crops that underpin food security in Iraq," adding that "Iraq beyond the limits of the two million tons of wheat during the current year despite the exceptional circumstances faced by the country."

He said al-Hamdani said "Iraq is open in the previous Astiradth the best global origins (Canada - US - Brazilian) to supply the needs of the grain needed to cover the Iraqi families within the ration card project is backed by the Iraqi state for many years."

The International Grains Conference is a high-level forum which will meet senior representatives of the private sector, government officials and has a membership of 27, including 17 member importer and a member of the 10-member exporters.

Iraq participated in the conference with a delegation headed by the Minister of Commerce and a number of corporate managers in the ministry.
