DUBAI (Reuters) - Iraq will mediate to try to resolve the diplomatic row between Iran and Saudi Arabia, its Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari said on Wednesday, according to a translation of his comments.
He was speaking in a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif broadcast live on Iranian state television.
Jaafari's translated comments were broadcast in a caption on Iran's English-language channel Press TV.
Zarif said Saudi Arabia was fuelling tension in the region while Tehran was trying to defuse it. "Creating tension is not a sign of power, but weakness," he said.[/size]
