    Announced Najaf airport management, on Monday, its intention to create a new runway within projects expansion of the airport during this year, revealed that the project will be implemented by the engineering staff of the airport in cooperation with the company (Kawthar) Iraqi and Chinese companies, while confirming achieve completion rates advanced in the expansion project two showrooms of entry and departure.
    The Associate Director of Engineering Affairs at the airport authentic chagrin Mohammed in an interview to the (long-Presse), said that "the most important projects that intend to direct management of the airport during the current year, is a project of a new runway length of about 3,700 meters and a width of about 75 meters," noting that "management Airport waiting for official approval to direct the project. "
    She said Mohammed, that "the project will be implemented by the engineering staff of the airport in cooperation with the company (Kawthar Iraqi) with Chinese company (TEPC)", indicating that "this year's projects also include modifying the new road to the gate of the (vip) as well as maintenance and Aksaih without closing the airport runway , as well as the parking of large aircraft sizes. "
    She drew the Associate Director of Engineering Affairs, that "this year will see the completion of the expansion project two showrooms entry and exit to 1200 m 2 and 1400 m 2 with the opening of new routes", stressing "the importance of the role of the Iraqi engineering cadres in these projects and who have participated in several courses outside of Iraq and cooperation with the High Jordanian Airlines. "
    For his part, director of airport management Morteza Musawi said in an interview to the (long-Presse), "The completion rate has reached an advanced stage in Najaf airport expansion projects, particularly in the arrival hall, which arrived in the achievement to 40%."
    Al-Moussawi said, "The expansion project will be completed by the end of 2016 at a cost of about $ 1.8 million contribution Ancoche Iraqi company."
    The Najaf airport management, opened in December 2014, the project aircraft traffic (taxi Wei) at the airport at a cost of seven million dollars, as indicated that the project will allow the airport to receive more than 120 aircraft daily, confirmed the presence of important future projects at the airport, including "Terminal new runway new".
