Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The Iraqi parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, discussed with a delegation from the Christian Communities Heads Council, the conditions of the Christians and the political crisis in Iraq.
A statement by the parliament cited on Thursday “Nijaifi received a delegation from the CCHC headed by Patriarch, Mar Louis Raphael where they discussed the Christian situation in Iraq and the political crisis.”
The Speaker renewed his congratulations to the “Patriarch on assuming the new post as this stands for source of pride for all the Iraqis.”
“The Christian delegation presented an initiative to resolve the current crisis through adopting dialogue and speed up considering the files of the innocent detainees,” the statement added.
For his part, “Nijaifi welcomed this initiative and promised to consider it carefully.”
