US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter said that is likely to be increasing the number deployed in Iraq by US forces, pointing to the recent success liberation of the city of Ramadi and the need to train more units of the Iraqi army and police, while expanding the campaign against Daash, as he put it.
It is according to the Washington Post in a report quoting Carter as saying that "It is likely increasing the number of US troops deployed in Iraq."
He added that "additional US troops will be part of a larger military advisers force, which could include more troops from countries that meet the ministers of defense, Wednesday, in Paris, France, Britain, Australia, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands to discuss the evolution of the military campaign against Daash in Iraq and Syria."
He said, "it will increase the number of trainers in addition to the diversification of the exercises and that according to the instructions of President Obama whenever there is an additional opportunity to make a difference in accordance with the strategy we will be fully prepared to work with them."
The report added that "US Defence Secretary did not specify the number of American advisers who will be deployed but said they will assist in the training necessary for the Liberation of units and capture the city of Mosul." As he put it.
