    Open the door to run for municipal elections

    Kuwaiti
    cabinet assigned Foreign Ministry yesterday and completing the
    necessary practical measures to the memorandum of understanding
    concluded between Kuwait and Iraq on arrangements for the maintenance of
    the physical process of the border between the two countries.

    The
    mandate of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs under Security
    Council Resolution No. 833/93 on the demarcation of the border between
    the two countries targeting a memorandum of understanding to install and
    maintain stent border and ensure the inviolability of international
    borders contained in UN Security Council Resolution 833 and the
    formation of a bilateral committee joint technical assume lose marks on
    an annual basis, maintenance and repair and maintain them.

    And
    recommended that the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Foreign
    Affairs of Kuwait deposit a copy of the Memorandum of Understanding with
    the United Nations in accordance with Article 102 of the Charter of the
    United Nations.

    The
    Kuwaiti Council of Ministers briefed yesterday on the presentation by
    the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid
    dealt with the results of the visit, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar
    Zebari of the country last week, in addition to briefing the Council of
    Ministers to the conclusion of the recommendations of the UN Committee
    on the demarcation of the boundary between the State of Kuwait and the
    Republic Iraq regarding the necessary procedures for the maintenance of border markers between them.

    On
    the other hand announced that the Supreme National Committee for
    election in Kuwait to open the door for nomination for membership of the
    Municipal Council yesterday, for a period of 10 days ending on June 12
    (June) current.

    The
    committee said in a press statement yesterday, said that the
    registration fee to run for municipal council elections has risen from
    50 dinars to 500 dinars.

    And
    set the conditions for those who are entitled to stand for election,
    including at least 30 years of age, and to have his name included in one
    of the election schedules, and to be Kuwaiti nationality as original
    and in accordance with the law.

    It
    is scheduled to take place the members of the municipal council
    elections in 10 constituencies in the sixth of July next, according to
    an Emiri decree. Kuwait
    Municipality has seen 10 general elections fought by members of the
    municipal council in the 52 years since the country's independence in
    1961.

    The
    last elections took place in Kuwait Municipal Council in June 2009,
    where the number of voters in ten circles of those elections to the
    closure of the polling stations about 71 402 voters at a rate of 20.56
    per cent of the total number of voters of 347 214 voters and voters.

    two countries and to serve the common goals and interests, said Sheikh
    Abdullah bin Zayed cooperation between officials of the two countries is
    constantly evolving, and called for increased coordination in joint
    action in international organizations and conferences, and other important matters on the international arena.


    He
    also praised the online investment companies and business between the
    two countries, which was held the morning of the day before yesterday in
    the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuwait on the sidelines of the
    second session of the Joint Higher Committee, which aims to explore
    investment opportunities with a number of representatives and officials
    of public and private sector where touched forum to vital sectors such
    as
    Ports and Free Zones, energy, infrastructure, real estate, construction and agriculture.
