[ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayiad Allawi, stressed “The citizens’ patience and struggle and their forbearance for the hardships is behind relieving Iraq from the UN sanctions.”[/ltr]
[ltr]The UN Security Council voted on last Thursday, on relieving Iraq from the UN Charter’s seventh Chapter.[/ltr]
[ltr]Allawi mentioned in his personal Twitter page “The experience of the past years must be followed as a lesson in confronting the monopolation of power and dictatorship,” noting “The decision of relieving Iraq from the UN sanctions is achieved by the Iraqis’ patience and sacrifices and their bearing for harsh international sanctions.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“We struggled since 2005 to get Iraq exempted from the UN Charter’s 7th Chapter, and after many years of hardship the government managed to lift the 7th Ch. Imposed on Iraq,” he stressed.[/ltr]
