Jamie Collins taking swipe at New England Patriots?

New England Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick made a surprising move earlier this season when he traded away Patriots’ star linebacker Jamie Collins to the Cleveland Browns. Jamie Collins, who was in the last year of his rookie contract, went from a winning team in the New England Patriots to a winless team in the Cleveland Browns.

Bill Belichick has been known to make stern business decisions with his players over his tenure in New England. Belichick has let many key players to the success of the New England Patriots’ franchise walk if he didn’t think a deal could get made that was worth his while.
With the Jamie Collins’ trade, Bill Belichick was once again questioned by both the media and some fans alike as to whether the move was intelligent. Belichick has to make the tough calls with his personnel and more often than not he makes the right call.
Jamie Collins recently posted on Instagram something that looked very much like a swipe at his old team and head coach. The Ex-Patriot Collins posted a picture with the caption saying, “I may not be where I need to be, but thank God I’m not where I used to be.”
The picture could easily been interpreted as a swipe at the New England Patriots. Collins wouldn’t be the first player to be bitter towards the Patriots and particularly Bill Belichick. Wes Welker was notorious after leaving New England for bad mouthing his former boss.
Even if this was meant as a personal attack on the Patriots’ head coach, Collins may just have sour nerves. In a way, it is hard to blame him after going from a Super Bowl contender to a team on a historic losing streak. Jamie Collins may not be happy with Bill Belichick and the organization after being traded away to Cleveland, but unfortunately football is a business.
