The Iraqi Foreign Ministry said on Monday that two diplomats of the Iraqi embassy in Kabul had been involved in the use of automatic weapons with the terrorist elements of the embassy.
"Two of the diplomatic staff of the Iraqi embassy in Kabul clashed with the terrorist elements of the embassy," Ahmed Jamal, spokesman for the ministry, said in a statement received by Mawazine News.
Jamal added that "the foreign minister sent a special envoy to Afghanistan to find out the circumstances of the terrorist incident, as well as the Iraqi charge d'affaires to check on his health."
The Iraqi embassy in Kabul this morning was attacked by a car bomb, followed by an attempt by gunmen to enter the building in the center of the Afghan capital.
