Taking a knee, another perspective on free speech

I know many of you are enthusiasts regarding various sporting arenas. And as you, I am a confirmed believer in free speech which takes many forms. But coming from a family of veterans (and going back to the Civil War, with family on both sides) I feel taking a knee or raising a fist is an insult to veterans, who served, and are serving this country, some being severely injured and some who give the ultimate sacrifice so Americans can have freedom of speech. Please consider how they and their families feel, seeing someone taking a knee, and dishonoring the flag and anthem that they, and/or a loved one sacrificed so much for. We don't see the disabled vets, who compete in sporting events taking a "knee" or raising a "fist". They are so proud to be able to represent America, and would love to stand and sing the national anthem or march in a parade carrying our beautiful flag. Please remember our veterans are from all nationalities, men and women, American strong, who fight for, has fought for and who have given so much for, along with their families for this wonderful country. God bless America.
